    Description

Manuel Manilla small broadside. Undated but circa 1905. Los Amorios de Ana. With 2 romantic songs. printed by Vanegas Arroyo publishers, Mexico City. Pale pink paper, 11.5 x 8"
Both Posada and Manilla worked as engravers around the turn of the 20th century and are renown for their ardent Mexican populism during a time where Eurocentrism dominated the culture. They are the pivotal artists in the transition from the colonial to the modern and had strong influence on the Mexican muralists such as Diego Rivera.
